Shattering the Silence, Removing the Shame: A panel of brave survivors will shatter the silence around sexual violence, sharing their inspirational stories of trauma, healing, and justice. Through an interactive discussion with the audience, they will share why there is no shame in being a survivor and how every student has the power to help create culture change by being an everyday advocate.
10:30 - 11:30 a.m.: SESSION 1 - WHAT IS THE ISSUE?
The series of workshops in this session focus on establishing a clearer understanding
of sexual assault and consent.
11:40 - 12:40 p.m.: SESSION 2 - WHY IS IT SO COMPLICATED?
The series of workshops in this session will explore the intersectionality and complexity of sexual assault and consent.
12:40 - 1:40 p.m.: LUNCH and RESOURCE FAIR

1:40 - 2:40 p.m.: SESSION 3 - WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
The series of workshops in this session will provide practical approaches to addressing sexual assault and consent in your school.
2:45 - 4:00 p.m.: CLOSING KEYNOTE
Our Quilted Narratives: This keynote will build on the work and the conversations held throughout the day. Designed around the Iceberg Theory, Dr. Whitehead will use the theme of empathy to explore the traits of compassion, accountability, and responsibility. Included in her keynote will be an opportunity to reflect, discuss, and share experiences of the day and ideas to move forward. Dr. Whitehead’s inspirational keynote will leave participants ready to engage, collaborate, and advocate!
